Anime Character Roster
Switch to the Anime tab and the roster looks like it came out of a visual novel. Willow (19) is an innocent nightclub performer. Aoi (19) is a devoted nurse with twintails and a nurse cap, classic archetype executed well. Kira (21) is an innocent student. Yumiko (23) is a nympho with glasses, the type that gets oversaturated on some platforms but is actually well-drawn here.
The interaction counts tell you what's popular. Aoi sits at 3 billion messages. Yumiko at 582 million. These aren't placeholder characters.
Create Your Own Anime Waifu
The character creator is available on free. Pick Anime style, set hair color, personality, relationship type, age, and voice. The preview generates a full anime portrait based on your selections.
Pink hair with red eyes, Jester personality, 20 years old, Colleague relationship. The generated character matches the settings. This level of customization is the strongest argument for FantasyGF over competitors.
Key Features
I also tested Zoe, a 23-year-old "Dominant, School Mate" type from the realistic side. The avatar looked good in chat. Though look closely at Zoe below. The tight shorts create an anatomically impossible effect. Butt visible from the front. Classic AI generation artifact, and it's pretty jarring on a profile photo that's supposed to sell you on the platform.
Personality types cover 13 options: Custom, Caregiver, Sage, Innocent, Jester, Temptress, Dominant, Submissive, Lover, Nympho, Mean, Confidant, Experimenter. Voice options include Sexy Villain, Cute, Sweet Teen, Anime Girl, Soft, Deep/Dominant, and Emotive. You can preview voices before selecting.
Relationship types give you 12 options: Stranger, School Mate, Colleague, Mentor, Girlfriend, Sex Friend, Wife, Mistress, Friend, Best Friend, Step Sister, Step Mom.
Level system. You earn XP through chatting, generating images, and creating characters. There are 15 levels from Newcummer all the way to Ultimate Soulmate at 100,000 XP. Each milestone gives bonus tokens. Slow grind, but at least there's a reward for staying active.
Community content. There's a public gallery of what premium users have generated. It shows you exactly what you're paying for before you commit.
What You Get on the Free Tier
One free image generation. That's the main limit.
I asked a character to take a picture. The chat showed "Finishing up... Taking picture..." with a loading spinner. The image generated, spent my free token, and then didn't fully display. Bug or intentional friction? Hard to say. Either way, not a great first experience.
The chat works on free tier. It lagged a bit, not unusably so, but noticeably. AI responses felt decent for basic conversation, nothing impressive.
I did spot one artifact. A generated image showed a character simultaneously facing forward and backward. Face and back visible at once, like a 3D render gone wrong. One-off glitch, everything else in the community gallery looked fine. But it happened on my session.
Voice messages, NSFW content, video generation, and live phone calls all require premium. Free tier images with NSFW content are blurred. You can see the outline. You just can't see it without paying.
